America will no doubt muddle through, as it has done so often before.
So a debt ceiling deal has been reached, but are the sacrifices worth it? What about American’s political culture prevents us from believing that working for the greater good really works for the greater good? It seems that Adam Smith knew the intricacies of the American mind when he argued that citizens would work for their own financial gain. What Americans got out of this deal is more of the same-old, same-old.
