If we have any faith at all in our justice system, then shouldn’t we trust that when inmates are released from their sentences they have been “rehabilitated?”  Why is it that we continue to punish those who have already served their “time?”  If we believe that our current system of sentencing doesn’t assign adequate punishment, shouldn’t we seek to reform the system rather than continuing to punish those who have played by the rules?
